Buster’s Billiards and Backroom will be playing host to Lexington-area musician ellee ven’s tenth annual Give in to the Groove benefit show Friday night.

The show for all-ages, according to event representative Doug Deutsch, is meant to draw attention to community needs and young artists in the Fayette county area.

The lineup will be headlined by ven and will feature the March Madness marching band, bree, Battlelion, Adam I and No Excuse, among others.

“Admission is $5 and 100 percent of the proceeds go to charity of your choice,” Deutsch said. “Lots of area charities are participating.”

Participating organizations include the Lexington Humane Society, the Girl Project, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Dream Factory, Moveable Feast and the Living Arts and Sciences Center.

Ven said that her goal is to illustrate that everyone can give back to their community.

“Everybody likes to feel purposeful,” ven said. “I just want to help generate a lot of good will in the community; a lot of good energy is really powerful.”

“When I started Give in to the Groove ten years ago, I wanted to create my dream night where anyone can make a difference,” ven added. “My mission is about community, not a single charity.”

Doors for the show open at 8 p.m. with the show beginning at 9 p.m. For more information about the show’s lineup and participating charities, visit giveintothegroove.com.
