John Calipari added another five-star recruit to his résumé on Wednesday.

Canadian point guard Jamal Murray announced on Canadian sports network TSN that he would be reclassifying to the class of 2015 to play for the Cats.

Murray is considered to be a consensus top ten recruit on recruiting websites and was Calipari’s top remaining target in the 2015 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-5 combo guard is regarded as a future first-round NBA draft pick due to his versatility and the ability to protect and handle the basketball.

The addition of Murray lifts the 2015 UK recruiting class to No. 1 on 247Sports, and remain second on ESPN behind defending national champion Duke.

Murray joins center Skal Labissiere, point guard Isaiah Briscoe, and shooting guards Charles Matthews and Mychal Mulder in the class. The five-man group gives UK its sixth No. 1 class in the last seven years.

The addition of Murray will put UK in the conversation as the favorite for the best backcourt in the country and likely into the preseason top three. It’s likely that the Cats go with a smaller lineup next season, featuring three guards with sophomore Tyler Ulis leading at point and Briscoe and Murray as the other guards.
