Man sexually abuses woman at Arboretum

UK Police sent out a campus-wide crime bulletin Thursday informing the UK community of sexual abuse that took place Wednesday evening at The Arboretum on campus.

The suspect slapped and groped the backside of the victim as the victim was running through The Arboretum around 5 p.m. Wednesday. According to the bulletin, the victim was not a student and the suspect is unknown. The suspect was described by the victim as being a white male, around 20 years old, of short stature with light colored hair and wearing a white shirt and bright shorts.

This is the fourth crime bulletin issued this school year. The previous incident occurred on Nov. 1 when a male student reported being a victim of sexual misconduct in his dorm room by another male known to him. The other two crime bulletins were issued for motor scooter and bicycle theft.

UKPD is compelled to issue these bulletins as part of the “Timely Notice” provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998.
