The UK Nominating Committee of the Board of Trustees approved several appointments Monday to university foundations.

All nominations were swiftly approved with no discussion. It took just over 10 minutes for the Board to finish all business and discussion.

Frank Shoop was unanimously approved as a trustee to the UK Gluck Equine Research Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors. Shoop’s term will last for four years.

The foundation’s purpose is to “facilitate the exchange of information with the equine industry and to secure funding for equine research at the University of Kentucky,” its website said.

Present members of the UK Mining Engineering Foundation, Inc. approved unanimously Robert Grossman and James Booth as trustees to the foundation. Both of their terms expire after two years.

The foundation was created to “enhance the mining engineering department,” its website said.

All nominations were taken up based on input from the UK Board of Trustees and its general counsel.
