The Cats hit the pitch with hope Thursday night at the Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium in Columbia, MO to take on SEC foe the Missouri Tigers, but were downed 2-0, which handed the Cats their second shutout loss of the season.

The match was tilted heavily towards the Tigers in all aspects of the stat sheets. Strong defensive pressure and offensive attacks on the goal kept the Tigers out in front for pretty much the entire game.

The first half remained scoreless from both benches until a powerful five-yard strike on goal in the 33rd minute put the Tigers in front.

At the end of the half, the Cats only took 4 shots compared to the Tigers 18.

The momentum remained with the Tigers in the second half, who took 14 shots and in the 85th minute scored one with a chipper over freshman goalkeeper Evangeline Soucie.

The Cats attempted 4 corner kicks in the final moments of the match but were unable to generate any points or offensive momentum. Despite the Tigers win, Soucie made 11 saves which tied her career high.

With the loss, the Cats drop to 4-4-2 for the year. UK currently has only one point in the Southeastern Conference, and sits at 0-2-1 in league play.

The Cats look to redeem their loss on the road, taking on No. 12 South Carolina Sunday at 2 p.m. in Columbia, SC. The match will be aired on SEC Network+, ESPN3, and the WatchESPN app.
