Two men were shot Thursday night on Red Mile Road after a robbery.

Lexington police said Thursday afternoon one of the men is charged with first-degree robbery. Police issued a warrant for Demetrioun L. Boaz, 20, for first-degree robbery. Anyone with information about Boaz is asked to contact police.

WKYT reported the incident began around 8:30 p.m., after three people tried to rob a house on Red Mile Road. One of the suspects was barricaded inside one of the Red Mile apartments, but escaped.

Investigators said one of the people shot was a 22-year-old male who showed up at a nearby Shell gas station in need of help later that night, after being shot in the back. Police said the other victim, an 19-year-old male was taken to the UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital after being shot several times.

Red Mile Road was temporary closed last night while police had the suspect barricaded in the Red Mile apartments. Occupants were temporarily vacated while the investigation went on. It had been reopened and occupants are allowed back in.
