Big Blue Madness serves not only as a spectacle for fans, but as a recruiting event for possible future players.

Every year, a handful of high school players come to Lexington to witness the glitz and glamour of UK during one its biggest premier events. Head coach John Calipari knows that if he can impress them during the show as special guests of his, he stands to get an edge over all other programs in the young players’ recruitment process.

This year is no different, with as many as 10 target players making the trip to the Bluegrass to behold the Madness. Some of them, like next year’s top point guard recruits Trae Young and and Quade Green, are making their trips to UK as part of their official recruitment visits.

Cats Illustrated’s Justin Rowland and T.J. Walker have been reporting throughout the offseason which players Calipari has been going after, and have compiled a breakdown list of the recruits attending Madness this year.
