So if you didn’t hear or see any news about it, Anthony Davis had quite the season opener last night.

The 6-foot-10 power forward of New Orleans erupted for 50 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 steals and 4 blocks on opening night against the Denver Nuggets.

Yet somehow, Davis and the Pelicans still lost 107-102.

Davis had similar jaw-dropping performances last year before his season was cut short because of a torn labrum in his left shoulder and a left knee injury. In the fifth game of the 2015-16 season, he had 43 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals against the Atlanta Hawks. He then dropped 59 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists in a late February matchup with the Detroit Pistons.

With his latest monster performance, it’s safe to say that the former Kentucky champion is back in form.
