According to a recent study by The Commonwealth Fund, repealing parts of the Affordable Care Act, specifically the federal premium tax credits to help people afford health insurance and the federal payments to states to expand Medicaid, could cost Kentucky almost 45,000 jobs by 2019.

A significant portion of these lost jobs would be health care related, but construction, retail and other job markets would be affected, as well.

The decrease in federal spending would lead to $40.6 billion less in business output in Kentucky and $718 million less in state and local taxes, according to the report.

Ending the two provisions nationwide would result in a loss of 2.6 million jobs in 2019.
