After weeks of anticipation, four-star wide receiver Lynn Bowden has officially been cleared by the NCAA to join Kentucky and start practicing immediately.

Head coach Mark Stoops confirmed the news in a press conference at UK’s Fan Day. Stoops said Bowden was cleared Friday afternoon and put through an individual workout later that day.

Bowden was present at Fan Day for the autograph signing and open practice on Saturday.

With the addition of Bowden, the Cats’ entire roster is now in Lexington for fall training camp. Bowden was the last freshman of the 2017 class to join the team after everyone was present at the start of fall camp.

Coaches have been praising Bowden ever since he signed with UK, and he will add a big boost to the Cats’ already loaded receiving core, and the offense overall in general.

In his senior season, Bowden threw for 1,366 yards and rushed for 2,277 more. He tallied for 57 total touchdowns and was named the runner-up for Mr. Football in Ohio.

Bowden owns or shares 16 school records at Warren Harding High School in Youngstown, Ohio, and is the sixth all-time leading rusher in Ohio with 7,387 yards. Bowden is also 10th in rushing touchdowns with 91.

The Cats open the season on Sept. 2 at Southern Mississippi.
