Just days after his official visit to UK, five-star shooting guard Tyler Herro has verbally committed to become the third player in John Calipari’s 2018 class.

Herro, who is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the 36th best player and the fourth best shooting guard according to 247Sports Composite’s rankings. Herro was originally committed to Wisconsin in 2016, but decommited from the Badgers in October 2017.

After Herro backed out of the Badgers, Herro received interest from Oregon, Kansas, Butler, Villanova and UK. Calipari offered Herro a scholarship on Halloween, and he took his only official visit to UK 10 days later.

Herro will give the Cats good perimeter shooting, as he shot 35.7 percent from three for Playground Elite in the Nike EYBL last season. He averaged 14.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for Playground Elite.

Herro’s commitment comes three days after shooting Keldon Johnson signed to UK. Calipari is still chasing many more prized prospects, including Quentin Grimes, who is announcing his decision on Wednesday.

Calipari is also after Zion Williamson and Bol Bol.
