After Tuesday’s bowl game practice in Nashville, head coach Mark Stoops announced that defensive end Denzil Ware will be suspended for the Music City Bowl game.

The news was first reported by Jon Hale of the Louisville Courier Journal.

Ware reportedly violated team rules, which led to his suspension. Stoops declined to discuss the future of Ware’s involvement with UK football.

Stepping into Ware’s place will likely be true freshman Joshua Paschal, who has accumulated 14 tackles on the year. Paschal has made big plays this season in his backup roll, including his blocked punt against Eastern Michigan.

Ware will finish the year with 47 tackles, 9.5 of which were for a loss, and 6.5 sacks. Ware was second on the team in tackles for loss and sacks behind fellow Blitz Bro Josh Allen.
