After going 1-1 last week with a win over LSU and a loss to Tennessee, Kentucky basketball dropped out of the top 20 to No. 21 in Monday’s released AP Poll.

The Cats fell four spots after suffering their first SEC loss of the season to Tennessee. The Vols, who were previously No. 23, also fell one spot because of a loss to Auburn earlier in the week.

Auburn also entered the top 25 just one spot below the Cats after two wins last week, which brings their overall record to 14-1.

Despite the league’s growing talent, those three teams are the only SEC teams to be ranked in the top 25. Texas A&M, UK’s next opponent, dropped out of the top 25 after suffering losses to Florida and LSU.

The showdown for the Cats and the Aggies is set for Jan. 9 at Rupp Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
