According to Education Abroad there are no UK students studying in Paris, France, where a series of shooting and bombing attacks took place on Friday night.

Education Abroad has reached out to the eight UK students in other areas of France. “Everyone who has responded so far is alright,” said Andrea Gils, Education Abroad’s marketing and communications manager.

One professor is in Paris but has reported to be safe, according to UK Public Relations. No students are with the professor.

“The UK International Center officials continue to monitor the situation in Paris,” UK spokeswoman Kathy Johnson said. “They have advised all UK students currently in France to follow the directions of local authorities and stay in a safe place, and (they) have advised other students in the area to suspend any plans to visit France at this time.”

Johnson said International Center officials have been in contact with the families of students who are studying in France. She said one France-based student and one Germany-based student were in Paris on Friday but they have both reported to be safe, and the student based in France is still in Paris.

The university has not yet heard from every UK student in France.
