4-star tight end C.J. Conrad commits to UK

LeGrange (Ohio) High School tight end C.J. Conrad committed to UK in an announcement at his high school that was first reported by Scout’s Bill Greene.

Conrad is a four-star recruit who is rated as the sixth best at his position in the Class of 2015 by Rivals and Scout. He is the eighth-rated recruit in Ohio by Rivals as head coach Mark Stoops continues his grasp on Ohio high school football recruits into 2015. UK grabbed five of Ohio’s Top 16 recruits ranked by Rivals in the Class of 2014, and Conrad’s commitment is the third from the state in the Class of 2015.

His commitment also fills a need for Stoops on offense. Out of the three scholarship tight ends on the roster next season, two (Steven Borden and Ronnie Shields) are seniors in the upcoming season, and the other (Darryl Long) is an incoming freshman.

Conrad selected the Cats over Indiana. His offer list included Arkansas, Duke, Louisville, Rutgers and Virginia Tech, among several others, according to Rivals.
