Palli: Apply for SG Executive Team

Although elections are over, there are still serious ways to be involved in Student Government next year.

Today, the next SG administration will be releasing applications for its Executive Team. While the Senate plays an essential role when it comes to representing students, the Executive Team is responsible for almost all of the programs and services that SG provides.

President-Elect Jake Ingram and Vice President-Elect Mariel Jackson will be looking for passionate students to make sure that next year is a success. Serving on the Student Government Executive Team is an important commitment.

Some positions manage their own budget, and others regularly work with administrators and other student leaders to make a difference on campus.

It was primarily Executive Team members who planned and carried out the All-Student Tailgate. They also planned and scheduled our meetings with congressmen in Washington, D.C., and managed the Cats Cab program.

This year’s team has made so many things possible that simply would not be without their commitment.

These positions are open to anyone, and we want as many qualified candidates as possible to apply. Director-level positions are paid and come with a set of expectations for the year. However, there are other tiers of involvement as well.

Whether you have been involved with Student Government in the past or are completely new to the organization, applications are open to you.

Bringing in Executive Team members from every corner of campus is yet another way for SG to represent the entire student body.

In choosing the team that will help make their vision a reality, Ingram and Jackson will likely look for students who have shown a commitment to this university and who display the ability and enthusiasm to be successful.

I have no doubt that Student Government will find a new set of student leaders to continue to move our organization and our university forward.

Applications must be submitted by April 18 and can be found at uksga.org.
