CSF goes for another world record with water balloon fight Friday

The World’s Largest Water Balloon Fight is back for its sixth year with more people, more balloons and more water.
Each year the Christian Student Fellowship tries to break its record for the title of having the world’s largest water balloon fight, and this year is no exception.
The organization anticipates having close to 250,000 balloons on Friday, raising the total from last year’s 236,484 balloons, said Brian Marshall, the lead campus minister for CSF.
Marshall said the amount of water left on Johnson Center field after last year’s fight watered the lawn for days without sprinklers.
This year, in response to concerns about the amount of water used, the organization plans on collecting donations to raise funds to build a well in Africa.
“Water is so readily available in the United States … this is a way to show we have not forgotten about other people less fortunate,” he said.
This year’s water balloon fight is at 11:55 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Center fields. Marshall said students looking to attend only “need to get ready to throw some water balloons.”
