Three hits from freshman infielder Kyle Barret helped UK baseball to a 4-1 win over Wright State at Cliff Hagan Stadium on Tuesday.

Barrett extended his career-high hitting streak to 11 games in the Cats’ victory.

Senior pitcher Jerad Grundy picked up the win for UK (28-19, 10-14 SEC) in the first midweek start of his collegiate career.

The Cats took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Wright State halved the deficit by scoring a run in the fourth inning.

UK then added a run in both the sixth and seventh innings to secure the 4-1 scoreline.
