Baseball Cats defeat Wright State

Three hits from freshman infielder Kyle Barret helped UK baseball to a 4-1 win over Wright State at Cliff Hagan Stadium on Tuesday.
Barrett extended his career-high hitting streak to 11 games in the Cats’ victory.
Senior pitcher Jerad Grundy picked up the win for UK (28-19, 10-14 SEC) in the first midweek start of his collegiate career.
The Cats took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Wright State halved the deficit by scoring a run in the fourth inning.
UK then added a run in both the sixth and seventh innings to secure the 4-1 scoreline.
No. 2 Vanderbilt visits Lexington on Friday to begin a three-game series with the Cats at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
First pitch on Friday is slated for 6:30 p.m.
