After earning an 8-1 win at Lipscomb on Wednesday night, No. 20 UK Softball returns home for a one-game match-up with No. 5 Tennessee.

The game was put on the schedule because both teams lost midweek games due to weather.

The game will not count towards SEC standings.

Sophomore catcher Griffin Joiner shined in Wednesday’s game, going 2-for-3 with her team-leading eighth home run of the year.

Joiner is hitting .337 with eight home runs and a team-best 28 RBI.

UK (24-8, 5-4 SEC) freshman pitcher Kelsey Nunley picked up her 15th win on the year Wednesday night with her five-inning shutout performance against the Bison.

Nunley has an 15-3 record on the year with a 1.83 ERA to lead the Cats.

Tennessee (28-6, 6-3 SEC) is coming off an 8-0 win over Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday night.

The Volunteers have won five straight, including a series sweep over No. 9 Texas A&M.

Senior pitcher Ivy Renfroe leads the Vols from the circle with a 13-3 record and a 1.45 ERA.

Fellow Senior infielder Raven Chavanne leads UT at the plate with a .434 average and 34 runs scored.

Friday’s game is set to begin at 5 p.m. at the new UK Softball Complex.
