UK target Dominique Hawkins was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Kentucky after leading Madison Central to the state title. UK Hoops signee Makayla Epps, who led Marion County to an undefeated season and a state title, was named Miss Basketball.
Hawkins, who is reportedly awaiting a scholarship offer from UK, was named Most Outstanding Player of the state tournament after finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the Madison Central’s 65-64 win over Ballard in the Sweet 16 final.
Epps, who is the daughter of former UK guard Anthony Epps, averaged 22.8 points, 4.8 assists, 4.3 steals and 4.2 rebounds per game this season and was named a McDonald’s All-American.
