Women’s tennis hits road for two SEC matchups

The No. 46 UK women’s tennis team head to Knoxville, Tenn. to face the No. 28 ranked Tennessee Volunteers, and then to Athens, Ga. to take on No. 5 Georgia.

UK (12-5, 3-3) is coming off a 7-0 rout of Mississippi State over the weekend and is looking to improve on their mediocre 3-3 record in conference play. Freshman Nadia Ravita is currently ranked No. 38 in the latest ITA rankings.

Tennessee is led by junior Brynn Boren who comes in at No. 20 in the ITA rankings while senior Kata Szekely comes in at No. 40. The Vols are coming off a 4-0 defeat at the hands of No. 4 Florida this past weekend.

Georgia (11-2, 4-1) also lost at Florida this past weekend for their first SEC loss of the year. The Bulldogs have two ranked players in sophomore Lauren Herring, who is No. 7 in the country, and junior Maho Kowase, who is No. 17 in the latest ITA rankings.

UK will face UT Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. and will go against Georgia Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
