Two men shot near Tolly-Ho around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday remain in critical condition, according to Lexington Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts.
The shots were fired into a vehicle carrying three men as it turned onto Bolivar Street, Roberts said.
The driver was shot in the abdomen and one of the passengers was shot in the head.
According to Roberts, the men arrived at St. Joseph’s hospital following the shooting and were transferred to the UK Medical Center shortly after.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the situation.
“The victims haven’t been able to provide us with any suspect descriptions, nor have they been able to talk about the circumstances definitively,” Roberts said.
Any students who were in the area at the time of the shooting or have any information regarding the incident are encouraged to contact Lexington Police.
Update: One of the victims died at UK Medical Center on Monday. Dynell A. Stewart, 21, of Frankfort has been charged with two counts of assault and one count of wanton endangerment, WKYT is reporting.
