UK’s cheerleading team will attempt to win its 20th national title Saturday at the 2013 UCA/UDA Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.

Last season the Cats took home their 19th national title after defeating the University of Alabama in the finals.

2003, 2007 and 2011 are the only years since 1995 that UK has not taken home the national championship trophy.

During the season the squad cheers at all home games for UK Hoops, UK football and the men’s basketball team.

While the A team has been practicing for its performance this weekend, the squad’s B team cheered at Tuesday’s UK-Tennessee game at Rupp Arena and Thursday’s UK Hoops game at Memorial Coliseum.

Basketball fans were given a sneak preview of the A team’s 2013 championship routine during halftime of Tuesday night’s win over the Volunteers.

The championships take place at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
