UK head coach John Calipari will hope to add another five-star recruit to his 2013/14 roster Saturday when 6-foot-11 center Dakari Johnson announces his college commitment.

Johnson is the highest ranked center still available in the class of 2013 – and the Cats could do with securing his services.

UK is currently short at the five-spot for next season, with the expectation that freshman forwards Nerlens Noel and Willie Cauley-Stein will leave college early to enter the 2013 NBA Draft.

Georgetown, Syracuse and UK are the final three schools in with a chance of landing the New York, N.Y., native.

Ironically, the same three schools were also the final three under consideration by Noel before he ultimately revealed his decision to play at UK.

ESPNU will show Johnson’s announcement live during the halftime show of the network’s broadcast of Gonzaga vs Salesian, with coverage of that game beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
