After winning the team’s first ever SEC regular season title last year, the Wildcats have been selected to repeat by media members throughout the conference. Georgia was picked to finish second.

The selection is the first ever for the team since the polls began in the 1990-91 season.

Senior A’dia Mathis, reigning SEC Player of the Year, was also selected to repeat. Mathies is also on the “Wade Watch” list for National Player of the Year and was named a preseason All-American by Lindy’s and Athlon sports magazines.

Junior Samarie Walker was named preseason second-team All SEC.

UK Hoops starts the season with an exhibition against Bellarmine at Memorial Coliseum on Monday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
