UK Police issued a Crime Bulletin on Saturday morning after an attempted robbery near the Kentucky Clinic.

“There was such a delay in the reporting; anytime we have delays like that, it always hampers our investigation,” said UKPD Chief Joe Monroe.

According to the bulletin, police said before 1 a.m. a non-student adult male was approached by a male he didn’t know.

The suspect displayed to the victim what he believed to be a chrome handgun and demanded belongings. The victim said he didn’t have anything and the subject fled toward Huguelet Drive, according to the bulletin.

The bulletin describes the subject as a black male in his early 20s, with a medium build, approximately 5-foot-9-inches tall and 180 pounds. He is said be to clean shaven with short wavy hair. He was last seen wearing a blue UK basketball jersey with no shirt under the jersey, black athletic shorts and blue and gray retro basketball shoes.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact UK Police at 859-257-8573.
