  1. I’m a little disappointed that no attention was paid to the fair trade/trade justice questions that two students (myself included) brought up at this meeting.

However, even though the Kernel doesn’t seem to think the matter is important, Dr. Capiluoto’s office does, and a dialogue has been started to explore making UK a bigger supporter of trade justice and worker’s rights.

Shame on the Kernel for ignoring this, but seemingly covering every other question asked, but cheers to Dr. Capiluoto for being interested in student needs and his office for being very proactive in beginning a dialogue.

I attended the forum last night and you seemed well-prepared, but you can not honestly think those men had a answer to your question. The President has staff members who are much more knowledgeable of that subject.

You and several other people last night felt it was time for you to voice your agenda for 2-5minutes and then ask a question. I often got bored and zoned out. Then when the panel would respond I had no clue what you had asked, and I’m going to go out on a hunch and say the panel didn’t either. So I can see why the Kernel left them out, and if I can recall correctly the President said he would get back to you. Why cover a question with no answer?

Furthermore, I don’t know why you are surprised about the lack of reporting on the Kernel’s side. They’re awful, horrible, and manipulate so much information the truth is no where inside. They are a college national enquirer. Their staff lacks creativity and they cover the same stories repeatedly with the same spin every time.

If you look at the recap, the topics that got the most attention, were questions and not speeches.

Don’t be surprised, great question, keep pushing for answers.

  3. UK 2013,

You might have missed the fact that most of those “answers” up there aren’t answers at all but wishes and recaps of previous statements the administrators had made publicly about recent housing decisions. So the fact that some questions without equally concrete answers were published and others weren’t is indeed something to be commented on.

It’s a shame that you had such a hard time concentrating while students asked questions, perhaps you would have caught that mistake before publishing it.
