Terrence Jones is one one of five regional covers for Sports Illustrated’s basketball preview cover.
North Carolina’s Harrison Barnes, Connecticut’s Jeremy Lamb, Kansas’ Thomas Robinson and UCLA’s Reeves Nelson were the others.
UK was ranked No. 2 by SI. In its preview, SI writer Kelli Anderson examined the best-case scenario (“The young Wildcats live up to the hype and gel into an unstoppable force, shattering school records for blocks and three-pointers on the way to the NCAA title”) and worst-case scenario (“Too many lottery picks, not enough balls. Players bicker about playing time, infighting begins and Kentucky is bounced in the Sweet 16 of the tournament”) for UK. The full story can be read here.
(As Thomas Beisner of KSR pointed out, Jones is missing most of his left foot. I have no idea why. The other four covers have players with full and completely intact bodies.)
(UPDATE: UK Athletics’ Metz Camfield pointed out it’s probably because the bar code that specifies where the magazine is delivered goes in that location.)
