Sexual misconduct reported overnight on campus

A crime bulletin was issued Friday morning after a sexual misconduct incident was reported overnight, UK officials said.

The case was closed Friday evening after two individuals came forward to UK Police, Police Chief Joe Monroe said. Upon further investigation, he said, they decided no charges will be filed.

UK Police were notified of the incident involving a female victim and two male suspects at 1:40 a.m. Friday, a UK news release said. The victim said she was on her way home from an off-campus activity when the males offered to walk her back to her dorm. She said when she was near the corner of Rose Street and Huguelet Avenue the suspects forced her to touch them, and one of them began to pick her up. A group of witnesses then noticed something wrong, the release said, and the two suspects left the area, heading toward the Kirwan-Blanding complex on South Campus.

The victim said one suspect was a 6-foot male with a “mixed complexion” wearing a white shirt with a stripe across the chest, according to the release. The other was described as a 5-foot-8 white male wearing either a white T-shirt or polo shirt.

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact UK Police at 859-257-1616.
