A Lexington man charged with stalking and burglary in the second degree for the break-in of a home occupied by UK students is out of jail.
Terry Grossman of 400 Kingswood Dr., located about five miles from UK’s campus, pled not guilty in Fayette County District Court on Monday. Grossman, 55, posted a $72,000 bail around 3:30 p.m., according to a court official, and was released Monday evening.
A UK student and female resident of the home on Crescent Avenue called Lexington Police Friday around 4:30 p.m. after getting out of the shower to find an unknown subject looking into her roommate’s bedroom, said Lt. Richard Bottoms.
Bottoms said the woman told the subject to leave and after police searched the area they found the suspect nearby. Bottoms did not know how the suspect entered the house.
Police arrested Grossman at the corner of Waller and Crescent avenues around 5:20 p.m. Friday and booked him around 10:20 p.m., according to the Division of Community Corrections Web site.
After arresting Grossman, police took him to headquarters for questioning and obtained search warrants, which led to additional charges against him, Bottoms said.
The additional charges against Grossman at the time of his booking were 12 counts of video voyeurism, two counts of possession of a prescription drug in the first degree, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of promoting contraband in the first degree, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of marijuana, one count of receiving stolen property and one count of possession of burglary tools, according to the Division of Community Corrections Web Site.
The Kernel could not reach Grossman for comment. His next court date is set for Dec. 29 at 8:30 a.m.
