Hollywood cheat sheet: Five wandering-eye celebs and their beaus

I’m sure it’s happened to everyone, whether it was an elementary school love who was caught smooching your best friend on the playground or a high school sweetheart who dumped you right before prom (hypothetically of course — if this has happened to anyone I truly apologize). Cheating is a common part of the relationship struggle and this still holds true on college campuses. With the late night outings, alcohol-fueled bar crawls and the slew of new men and women, cheating is second nature to some. This may sound horrible, because we would all hope that being in a relationship means that each party is devoted to one another, but let’s be realistic, guys and girls have a tendency to stray.
Cheating, is one thing, but getting caught cheating is where the trouble really begins. We have all heard the stories of guys and girls getting caught in the act, and the stigma of an infidelity scandal can really hurt a reputation. So, imagine getting caught cheating, and now imagine not only getting caught, but then being on the cover of every magazine, newspaper and television news network … welcome to the wonderful world of celebrity cheating scandals! Scandals in Hollywood occur often, and a celebrity who gets caught cheating is like watching a dumb criminal. Although we may have differing definitions of what cheating actually entails, these five stars left very little to the imagination. Let’s take a look at some slimy celebs that got caught red-handed!
5. Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky: This is just a case of politi-gamy. While holding the title of Commander-in-Chief Mr. Bill Clinton participated in some “extracurricular” activities with one blue-dress-wearing 22-year-old intern. Clinton found himself in some political hot water, and repeatedly denied his affair. This lead to his infamous line “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” There is nothing like a little white (house) lie. Lying to your significant other is one thing, lying to the American public is a whole other issue. Clinton faced impeachment, which was upheld by the House, but dismissed by the Senate. Future Presidents take note — in order to maintain a squeaky clean reputation it may be best to keep the hands off the interns.
4. Jon Gosselin and Deanna Hummel: Jon and Kate, plus some spousal hate. Nowadays you can barely walk out of the house without hearing something about America’s favorite reality family. Jon Gosselin is considered the paparazzi pet and this all began when he was caught perusing the town with third grade teacher Deanna Hummel, while still hitched to wife Kate. Jon has denied reports of affairs, even though other women have come forward admitting to having sexual relations with the dad of eight. The fame-hungry father can’t seem to keep his mouth shut, and I think the success may have gotten to his head. Ladies, we already know he is fertile, so stay clear.
3. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: This is the most beautiful love triangle in Hollywood history. Although, actual infidelity has never been confirmed, many are adamant on the fact that Pitt cheated on his then wife, Jennifer Aniston, with Hollywood siren Angelina Jolie. Whether you believe it or not, it’s obvious that there is some bad blood between Pitt, Aniston and Jolie. Brad and Angelina were seen getting cozy while Brad was still hitched to Jennifer, but the scandal certainly didn’t affect the careers of any of the participants. Jennifer and Angelina are two of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses and Brad is the leading man. Angelina and Brad are still together and have the six children to prove their loyalty to one another. As for Jennifer, she can’t seem to catch a break with her love life and is on a relentless search for a new mate.
2. David Letterman and Stephanie Birkitt: The late night leader typically delivers laughs, but his recent affair was no laughing matter. This fall Letterman found himself at the center of an extortion plot with a former CBS employee. They claimed that Letterman had sexual relations with several of his younger, female staff members, even though he had been romancing his now wife for over 20 years. The two culprits will soon face off in court. I am seeing a trend with older, powerful men and young female intern.
1. Josh Duhamel and Nicole Forrester: We hope Fergie meant it when she said “big girls don’t cry,” because her recent marital scandal has surely rocked her world. While filming a movie in Atlanta, Josh set up camp at a local strip club, where he met dancer Nicole Forrester. Nicole claims that after the two met at the club, he then invited her to his hotel room at the St. Regis Hotel. The rest, as they say, is history. Although the couple has dismissed rumors of infidelity, it certainly is a juicy scandal. My theory is that Josh was a bit uncomfortable with his new wife’s fame. We hope this doesn’t prevent Fergie from making fabulous music.
