UK, WKU announce four-game football series

The UK and Western Kentucky University football teams have agreed to a four-game series during the 2010-2013 seasons, the schools announced Wednesday. The schools will play once a year for four years.

UK will host the Hilltoppers in Commonwealth Stadium in 2010 and 2012. In turn, the Hilltoppers will serve as the home team for two games at Nashville’s LP Field, home field of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, in 2011 and 2013.

“This will be a very good series for both schools and certainly great for our fans in the western part of Kentucky,” UK head coach Rich Brooks said in a news release.  “We really enjoyed our experiences in the back-to-back Music City Bowls in 2006 and 2007 and we look forward to returning to that venue.”
