Tilford, signees selected in MLB Draft

Junior right-handed pitcher Clint Tilford was selected 931st overall by the Colorado Rockies in the 2009 MLB Draft. The West Paducah, Ky., native joins fellow Bat Cats James Paxton, Chris Rusin and Chris Wade as draft selections. Seven UK signees were also drafted, according to UK Athletics. UK student found dead at Newtown Crossing

Richard Mudd, 22, who attended the Bluegrass Community and Technical College and had been accepted to the UK Gatton College of Business and Economics, was found dead at his Newtown Crossing apartment on May 28 after neighboring residents complained of a foul odor, according to Lexington Police.
