Over a week into the late signing period, UK coach John Calipari inked his second recruit at UK, signing junior college transfer Darnell Dodson on Friday.

Dodson, from Greenbelt, Md., attended Miami-Dade Community College the past two seasons, averaging 15.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 2008-09. Dodson chose Miami-Dade after originally committing to play for Pittsburgh, where he could not meet eligibility requirements his freshman season.

Dodson signed to play for Calipari at Memphis in 2009-10 but opted out of his letter of intent after Calipari resigned to coach at UK. Dodson is the fourth member of UK’s 2009 signing class and the second signed by Calipari.

Dodson joins Daniel Orton and Jon Hood, who signed at UK to play for former coach Billy Gillispie, and DeMarcus Cousins, a fellow Memphis recruit that followed Calipari.
