Dear Mary Fred, Liz, and Murphey - Your story has made quite the trip, from you in Kentucky to Kelsey and Jo in Buenos Aires and on to us in Denver. It's quite an inspiring story, especially thinking of the donation of a heart . You've all done a great job of turning lemons into lemonade. Hope all continues to go well, and that life is always good for you.
Peace,
Anne Green

First of all we need to say GREAT JOB ED of keeping all of us updated on Murf's progress. This journey that all of you are on is really a great story. We can relate and you exemplify the whole therory of take the hand you were dealt and make the best of it. We are so grateful that you have included us and shared all of your trials with us and I hope that through our close friendship and heart to heart conversations that your load was lightened a little. Murf to you I say YOU ARE A CHAMPION--your attitude and the way you dealt with all the suffering was truly that of a real warrior and anyone who knows you and your story is certainly poud of you and has the utmost respect for your courage.

Organ transplantation is the most incredible advancement this world has ever discovered as it is impossible for anyone to imagine how it changes a life. If you have never seen a miracle go sit with any transplant patient and listen to their journey. I would encourage everyone to be an organ donor and if you want to create a miracle consider donating a kidney. I have been blessed with a kidney from my hero--my wife--and there is nothing that compares to this GIFT OF LIFE she has given me. My life is so awesome because of her. I promise you that there is no better gift than that of saving a life.

Kentucky Kernel:
Thank you for your interest in Murphey's journey. Words are inadequate to express out appreciation for the personal and professional care provided to our son for the last two years by Dr. Timothy Bricker and Susanne Norman with Gill Heart Institute's Pediatric Cardiology Team and by Dr. Mark Bonnell, Belinda Connor and UK Medical Center's Transplant Team. When the time came to select a facility, we visited Cleveland Clinic and the University of Michigan. Those visits only served to confirm for us that the best possible personal and medical care for Murf was going to be at UK.
I want to encourage everyone to consider becoming an organ donor. Our gratitude for Murphey's gift of life can never be adequately expressed in words. Finally, if you haven't already done so, please consider a contribution to the American Heart Association's Heart Walk to help fight the battle against heart disease. Sincerely, Mary Fred Coy
