The Student Government Senate approved about $4,000 in funding for student groups at their Wednesday night meeting.
UK Military Veterans of America received $2,000 for a conference and T-shirts, according to the Senate’s minutes. The organization is new on campus, established recently to give veterans on campus a friendly place to go.
The SG Senate approved $1,000 for Kappa Sigma’s Founders’ Day banquet, according to the minutes. The fraternity requested the funds to rent a location for the event.
Additionally, $500 was given to a fundraiser to be held behind the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house to fight sex trafficking and human trafficking. A lecture titled “Does Religion Cause Violence†also received $500.
