For the Cats, a loss is a final statement on a disappointing season. A win will allow the Cats to either prolong their season with a second round NIT face-off: either to Omaha, Neb. to face Creighton, or to play at home against Bowling Green. The Cats will once again rely on Patrick Patterson and Jodie Meeks to lead the charge.

The Running Rebels are looking to make a deep NIT run after not making the NCAA Tournament. Coached by Lon Kruger, UNLV relies on Wink Adams for the bulk of their scoring. UNLV is 2-3 in their last five games and 2-13 against the Cats all time.
