Committee to plan use of leftover SG funds

The Student Government committee in charge of appropriating funds has about $20,000 left to distribute with its last meeting Wednesday, the committee chairman said.

The Appropriations and Revenue Committee will have its last public meeting at 8 p.m. in room 363 in the Student Center.

“This year we set up policies that helped SG maintain its budget so funding could carry over to the next semester,” said Adam French, the A&R chairman.

An expected 10 to 15 student groups will go before the A&R committee on Wednesday. After the meeting, the A&R committee will look at options for the remaining sum, French said.

The remaining money will go toward any special projects or any discretionary funding, French said. Money left over after this semester will most likely go to the summer and fall semesters, he said.

In two weeks, the A&R committee will meet again to determine what special projects the group wants to contribute to. That meeting is not open to the public.
