No word from UK about budget

With a 2 percent budget cut looming, UK has not yet decided upon where the cuts will come from.

Discussions are ongoing but nothing has been finalized and no dates have been set as to when the cuts will be decided, said UK spokesman Jimmy Stanton.

The state of Kentucky faces a $456 million deficit that will be made up through cuts in state funding and an increase in tobacco and alcohol taxes.

Higher education and UK received a 2 percent cut in funding and UK will subsequently have to cut its budget in this fiscal year, ending June 30.
