The city towed cars throughout the city Tuesday morning so Lexington’s snow plowing system could work effectively, Mayor Jim Newberry said in a news release Tuesday morning.
Newberry declared a Stage One Snow Emergency effective at 10 p.m. on Monday, which requires vehicles be removed from areas marked with “Snow Emergency Route†signs.
Police officers knocked on doors to try and have owners move cars, and vehicle owners may retrieve their towed vehicles by calling the Police Reports Desk at (859) 258-3563. The snow emergency order remains in effect until it is lifted by the mayor.

I used to work at the Reports Desk for the city, and they are not the people who release or retrieve your vehicles. They can tell you where the car IS.
