UK football head coach Rich Brooks announced Thursday that coaches Joker Phillips and Randy Sanders will receive title upgrades.
Phillips, UK’s offensive coordinator since 2005, will now be head coach of the offense. Sanders, who has patrolled the Cats sideline as quarterbacks coach since 2006, will now be Brooks’ offensive coordinator.
According to a UK Athletics news release, the title changes will not impact the football program’s everyday operations. Phillips will still call the offense’s plays on game day, and he will remain the head coach designate for when Brooks retires.
