Obama’s moral values do not align with Christians’

As an African American, I would love to be overjoyed by the recent election of a black man to become the president of the United States. This has been a long time coming. Many blacks who have passed on would love to have seen the day that this country would experience the opportunity to vote for a person of color to hold the highest office in the land. I will be praying for our newly elected president. But unfortunately, as a minister of the Gospel, I am troubled by what Obama stands for.
I’ve read Obama’s books, writings and watched videos of many of his speeches. The implications of his beliefs should concern any Bible-believing Christian and I sincerely believe we are about to face some very trying times in the near future. As Christians living by the standards of the word of God, we will be facing a serious uphill battle and if we do not stand up for Christian values, we will be silenced forever.
Obama ran on a campaign of change. On the surface, we are led to believe that this change is simply referring to a political and economic change. I believe the change he is looking to implement goes much deeper than politics and economics.
I have examined Obama’s record in the Illinois State Senate. Obama voted against giving human rights to infants who survived the attempt to abort them. Obama also made a point by mentioning homosexuals, not only in his acceptance speech at the Democratic nomination, but also again when he won the presidential election. It is quite clear that he is looking to change the moral direction of this country in a way that I do not believe most Christians want to go.
I am making a couple of predictions. You do not have to agree with me, but I encourage you to keep this article and within the first year of the Obama’s presidency, I believe you will see the following take place:
First, Obama will look to remove any limitations on abortions. Just as he did in the Illinois State Senate, he will look to allow a baby’s life to be terminated even in the latter stages of a pregnancy. He will push to allow second- and third-trimester abortions, as well as allow for the death of infants who are born after surviving an abortion attempt.
Second, Obama will look to give same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexual couples under the law. He will also be a proponent of giving transgender and transsexual people special rights and protections under the law of the land.
Obama will look to limit the free speech of Christians who speak out against homosexuality and any other lifestyles that Christians believe are wrong according to God’s Word, the Holy Bible.
We will begin to see more and more hatred toward people who stand up for Biblical ethics. Obama is the most liberal president this country has had in recent times, and he will be very persistent in pushing the liberal, far-left agenda onto our country. When we stand up for Biblical ethics, the pushback will become more intense as time goes on.
California is a prime example of the type of attacks that will be perpetrated against Bible-believing Christians. Just a couple of weeks ago a kindergarten teacher took a group of 4- and 5-year-olds to witness a same sex marriage, which was legal at the time in California. The teacher even had the students sign a pledge not to speak against homosexuality. I, personally, would not want my kindergartner being taught to accept something I morally disagree with. After Proposition 8 was passed in California, gay and lesbian activists vowed to punish the Mormon Church and anyone that supported this law. They even called for a boycott of the state of Utah.
I thank God that the citizens of California voted to protect marriage as a union between a man and a woman. It is important that we stand up for our morals and values. It is clear that we, as Christians, are in for a strong push from the liberal left and unfortunately, the new Obama administration will be their strongest proponent.
We, as Christians, must stand strong in this fight for our morals and values. The ironic point is that these laws are supported by, and pushed through by, the same people that tell us that we do not have the right to “legislate morality.” Isn’t this what gays, abortionists and the proponents of the overall liberal agenda are trying to do?

“Obama also made a point by mentioning homosexuals, not only in his acceptance speech at the Democratic nomination, but also again when he won the presidential election.”
Oh noes! Obama recognized that there are gay and lesbian individuals living in America! Despicable!
“Second, Obama will look to give same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexual couples under the law. He will also be a proponent of giving transgender and transsexual people special rights and protections under the law of the land.”
What are these special rights? You mean like protection from discrimination in terms of employment? Give us the evidence, Joe.
“Obama will look to limit the free speech of Christians who speak out against homosexuality and any other lifestyles that Christians believe are wrong according to God’s Word, the Holy Bible.”
Where’s the evidence of this? Show me where Obama has advocated such policies. Also, you do realize that there is no one “Christian” faith, right? There are several Christians who do not find homosexuality to be wrong.
And as for all the Mormon talk — the kind folk over in California dipped into the church’s coffers to spend hundred of thousands of $$$ to promote Prop 8. Surely they could have spent that money on oh say, homeless outreach, relief in Africa, or um, a million other causes.
Shwew, old guard retire already.
The law is not the same as the Gospel. This country was founded by Deists, not Christians. They wrote the Constitution is the tradition of Transcendentalism. Giving same-sex couples equality under the law does not have any bearing whatsoever in religion. As much as many want to believe, America is not a theocracy. It is not a Christian nation. Freedom of religion was one of the pillars this country was founded on, and those who have deviant behaviors or lifestyles from certain religions have every right to be equal under law. If this bothers you so much, preach to them. But do not try to equate your standards of morality or beliefs with the law of the land. Turning America into a theocracy would make us no different from Iran, which is a theocracy.
Mixing politics and religion is always a tricky business.
There is no evidence that Obama would put restrictions on any religions rights under the Constitution.
Not all Christians believe the same things. It’s good that they don’t, as the evidence is overwhelming that the Christian faith has been altered in many ways in the last 2000 years. The First Council of Nicea is a good example. Held in 325 a.d., this Council picked and chose which of the existant scriptures would be regarded as true and which would not. A substantial amount was cast aside.
Then there are problems of translation. One need look no further than the rise of protestantism (i.e. Martin Luther) to see that interpretations of the scripture vary widely. Wars and inquisitions were held over these very issues.
Obama, by any measure, is a Christian.
There’s nothing i love more than the fact that Obama’s moral values are not align with Christians. The day we can mix the fiscal outlook of a republican with the social views of a democrat is the day i drape myself in old glory and go for a jaunt all the way around new circle.
