Library must remain open

The editorial on Sept. 12 makes the excellent point that not all students have the luxury of ending their schoolwork by midnight, nor are many home environments conducive to studying.

The University of Kentucky is an institution of learning. Its only duty to its students is to teach them and to provide them with a place to learn. To that end, the library is the one service provided to students that must not be cut. Why else are we paying tuition?
